NYC Vibe Match by Tony Tang (“we,” “us”) operates the website at nycvibematch.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights regarding it.
What we collect
- Email address — if you choose to provide one, so we can send your results.
- Quiz answers — your responses to the 9 quiz questions.
- Feedback — optional star rating, neighborhood picks, and notes you submit.
- Basic analytics — IP address (for rate limiting only, not stored long-term), browser type, and approximate location via standard web server logs.
How we use it
- To calculate and deliver your neighborhood match results.
- To email you a link to your results (one-time, only if you provide an email).
- To improve the matching algorithm using aggregated, anonymized feedback.
- If you indicate you are actively looking to move, we may share your email and quiz results with a partnered real estate agent in your matched area who may contact you. This only applies if you selected “Right now, actively looking” in the quiz.
Third-party services
- Supabase — database hosting (stores quiz results and emails).
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions.
These services process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
Cookies & local storage
We use browser sessionStorage to keep your quiz progress during a session and localStorage for your light/dark theme preference. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
Age restriction
NYC Vibe Match by Tony Tang is not intended for anyone under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
- Access & deletion — you can request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us.
- Opt out — reply “unsubscribe” to any email we send to stop future emails.
- California residents (CCPA) — you have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any sale (we don’t sell data).
- EU/EEA residents (GDPR) — you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and data portability.
Data retention
Quiz results and email addresses are retained for up to 12 months of inactivity, then deleted. Feedback data may be retained in anonymized form indefinitely to improve the algorithm.
